Open Swim
Open Swim Hours – Fall 2024
The Student Recreation Center Pool offers general open swim for students, faculty, staff, and alumni members. No reservation is required. Locker rooms and showers are available for use.
Effective Sunday, September 1, 2024, the Student Recreation Center Pool hours are as follows:
- Monday – Thursday: 6 a.m. – 11 p.m.
- Friday: 6 a.m. – 10 p.m.
- Saturday: 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.
- Sunday: 8 a.m. – 11 p.m.
- All patrons must still abide by Student Recreation Center regulations. In order to enter the facility, you will be required to show:
- A valid Montclair State University I.D.

Winter Break Hours
- Wednesday, December 18 – Sunday, December 22:
- Monday – Friday: 6:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Saturday – Sunday: 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Monday, December 23: Recreation Center Pool closes at 5:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, December 24 – Wednesday, January 1: Recreation Center closed.
- Thursday, January 2 – Thursday, January 16:
- Monday – Friday: 6:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Saturday – Sunday: 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Friday, January 17: Normal hours resume.

Free Swim Lessons
Free Swim Lessons – For Montclair State University Students
- FREE Swim Lessons for Montclair students can be scheduled one-on-one or in small groups with our trained instructors.
- Every Monday-Thursday, 5:30-6:30 p.m.!
- Lessons are not only for beginners! They are also for anyone who wants to:
- Improve their skill
- Learn a new stroke
- Add lap swimming to their exercise routine
- Check out our free swim promo video.

Events
The Student Recreation Center strives to create a welcoming and fun environment for all whether it be on land or in water! Aquatics Planned Events brings creativity and excitement through events for students to come alone or with friends! For either a relaxing night come enjoy our Dive-in movies, Paddleboard Yoga, and many more! Or if you’re looking for an adrenaline rush check out Wipeout, Hamster Glow, or Pool Bingo! Come join us on Monday nights from 6-8 p.m!

Have you ever wanted to stand on water? Well, now is your chance with Paddleboard Yoga! Grab your friends and come on down to the Student Recreation Center Pool and enjoy a time of fun and relaxation. Spots are limited so make sure to RSVP on Engage and save your paddleboard. This is something you won’t want to miss!

Booo! I put a spell on YOUUUU and now you’ll join us in the Rec Center pool for the movie Hocus Pocus! Come hop into the pool and float around. Don’t worry if you don’t want to get in, no problem! We will have on-deck seating for you to stay nice and dry. Enjoy complimentary acai BOOOOwls. Don’t be a fool and join us to make it a night to remember!
